Senior Legal Counsel

An igaming group of companies with their head office in Malta, is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel, to provide legal support and advice across the group's various entities. 

Reporting directly to the CLO, the ideal candidate will be adept in third-party contracts, payment service provider agreements, and have extensive experience in M&As.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Act the principal company contact for reviews, negotiations and amendments to external contracts, e.g. game supplier agreements, Payment Service Provider agreements, and other 3rd party agreements.
  • Draft, approve, and advise on NDAs and other legal agreements
  • Ensure company terms and conditions are up-to-date and remain compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Management of renewal/extension dates and related negotiation timetable
  • Advise the organisation on commercial, as well as legal, aspects of transactions and negotiating with counterparty legal and procurement teams
  • Liaise with external legal counsel on jurisdiction-specific legal matters, including litigations, enforcement and license application matters
  • Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
  • Support M&A activities in partnership with the Company’s management team

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Doctorate of Laws or a higher Legal Degree (Maltese Law)
  • At least 4+ years work experience as a lawyer
  • Experience in igaming B2C
  • Demonstrated experience in M&As
  •  IPO experience 
  • Solid knowledge of corporate and commercial law
  •  Excecllent command of English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work independently and cooperate with different teams
  • Excellent analytical skills with the capacity of identifying all risks and proactively choosing the best solutions
  •  Good interpersonal skills; happy to collaborate with others and with creating good rapport with colleagues and other points of contact.
