Due to a steady growth leading to an internal promotion, we are excited to share this brilliant opportunity for a skilled and driven Senior Risk Officer with experience from having worked within financial services or banking in Malta for at least 3 years!

Reporting directly to the Head of Risk, the Senior Risk Officer will assist with the overall risk management of a Private Bank.

Role & Responsibilities

• Conduct and assist in risk assessments to identify potential risks and
  vulnerabilities within the bank's operations, products, and processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate risks, assess their potential
  impact, and prioritize them based on severity and likelihood
• Monitor and review the effectiveness of risk management strategies together
  with the Head of Risk, making necessary adjustments as required
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies to
  maintain a strong control environment
• Assist in the drafting of policies and procedures and other internal
  documents particularly related to credit, operational and market risk and
  implementation thereof
• Provide guidance to the bank and its employees on compliance matters
• Communicate risk-related information and recommendations to various
  stakeholders, fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, regulators, and other
  stakeholders during compliance reviews and audits
• Provide guidance and support to business units on risk-related matters,
  promoting a proactive risk management approach throughout the organization
• Develop and deliver risk management training programs to enhance employees' knowledge and skills in identifying and managing risks together with the Head of Risk

Education, Skills & Experience required

• Strong knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and
  regulatory requirements
• 3+ years in similar role in Malta within Banking or Financial Services
• Degree in finance, banking, economics, business administration, or similar
• Relevant professional certifications
• Beyond reproach work ethics & professional integrity
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision
• Keen eye for detail with strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
• Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks
  effectively
• Good understanding of regulatory frameworks governing a Credit Institution
