MLRO (Part-Time)
A Malta-based firm providing corporate services, compliance, and financial management solutions is currently looking for a MLRO (Part-Time). The company supports businesses with regulatory, tax, and administrative requirements both locally and internationally.
As an MLRO, you will be responsible for ensuring the company’s full compliance with AML/CFT regulations, providing guidance on risk management, overseeing regulatory reporting, and acting as the primary point of contact with the FIAU. You will play a key role in advising management and staff on AML/CFT obligations, enhancing internal systems and processes, and maintaining a strong compliance culture across the organization.
This is a hybrid role offering a salary of up to €75K pro-rata, depending on experience.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all AML/CFT regulations and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the FIAU Implementing Procedures, Prevention of Money Laundering Act, Prevention of Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Regulations, Anti-Money Laundering Directive, Company Service Providers Act, and Company Service Providers Rule Book
- Provide the company with recommendations to improve AML/CFT systems, processes, and procedures
- Advise and guide the company and employees on technical matters related to AML/CFT obligations
- Review, update, and maintain AML/CFT policy manuals, including the Business Risk Assessment (BRA) and Customer Risk Assessment (CRA), and ensure proper implementation
- Take responsibility for regulatory reporting, including submission of the Risk Evaluation Questionnaire (REQ)
- Oversee and manage AML/CFT software and tools to ensure effective operation
- Report regularly to the Board of Directors on AML/CFT matters and provide strategic updates
- Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory authorities for all AML/CFT-related matters
- Handle internal reports and ensure timely filing of STRs, SARs, TFRs, and PEPRs to the FIAU
- Coordinate and deliver AML/CFT training initiatives for staff
Education, Skills and Experience
- Degree in a relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- Articulate in English, both written and spoken
- Strong understanding of the TCSP industry
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
