A boutique Maltese accounting and auditing firm looking for a Junior Accountant to join their growing team. In this role, you will assist with the preparation of financial statements, maintain accurate records, and support client audits and compliance processes.

This hybrid role offers a salary of up to €30K.

Role & Responsibilities

• Oversee daily bookkeeping activities to ensure accuracy and completeness

• Maintain company accounting records and prepare regular management reports

• Prepare and submit documentation required for statutory and regulatory compliance

• Process necessary system entries prior to the preparation of management accounts

• Prepare monthly management accounts with a high level of accuracy

• Produce regular financial reports and support the budgeting process

• Liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with relevant regulations

• Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely manner

• Present and explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders

Education, Skills & Experience

• Currently studying or working towards an accounting qualification such as ACCA

• 1+ years working experience in a similar role in Malta - non-negotiable

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

• Knowledge of another language is considered an asset

• Strong MS365 skills, particularly Excel and Word

• Experience with accounting software is considered an advantage

• Strong communication and active listening skills

• Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail

• Proactive mindset with the ability to think outside the box

• Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively

• Team player with the ability to collaborate across different departments
