A successful group of igaming companies, including several B2C brands and fully serviced B2B brands, is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their Legal and Compliance Department as the company keeps growing.  Having been incorporated nearly 15 years ago, the company offers a stable working environment and a flexible hybrid-remote set-up (see bottom of ad). 

Report directly to the Head of Legal & Compliance, having taken your place as one of the more senior members of the team, and with assistance from less senior members. The role offers ample opportunity for professional growth and up to €40K starting salary. 

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide accurate legal advice on commercial & marketing related queries
• Assist with M&A processes and license applications
• Assist DPO with issues related to privacy, data protection and intellectual property
• Advice on and resolve local regulatory compliance issues
• Contract management (commercial, intellectual, employment, marketing, PSPs)
• Evaluate and advice management on potential risks to the company
• Engage with external legal counsel on jurisdiction-specific matters, including litigation and enforcement

Education, Skills & Experience

• LLM
• 4+ years in a legal role post-grad
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an igaming role (in the legal / compliance dept)
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written & spoken
• Excellent communication skills in Maltese would be an advantage
• Experience of dealing with local and foreign authorities
• Experience of working with various igaming licences including the MGA
• Experience with M&As
• Experience of proof reading, adjusting, drafting and approving contracts to various international laws
