A blockchain payment solution provider, offering corporate clients instant transactions not bound by brick and mortar or but only the speed of the internet, is looking for a Senior Back-End Developer to join their team. In this role, you will be taking ownership of building secure, scalable .NET services and APIs for a regulated fintech platform, helping to deliver resilient, mission-critical infrastructure supporting global stablecoin operations. You will work closely with the HoD while operating with a high level of autonomy on day-to-day technical decisions.

This role can be either based in Gzira or fully remote, with a salary of up to €60K.

Role & Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise backend systems using .NET (C#), PostgreSQL, and Microsoft Azure

• Support CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployments

• Take ownership of tasks from design to testing, including documentation

• Act as a technical owner for assigned backend services, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability in production

• Implement security measures for customer data and financial transactions

• Follow best practices and regulatory standards

• Safeguard company data and handle shared data responsibly

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

• Participate in code reviews

• Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests

• Investigate and resolve backend issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks

• Support incident response plans and implement preventive measures

• Integrate logging, alerts, metrics, and tracing to detect issues early

• Experience integrating observability tooling to monitor backend applications and detect potential incidents early

• Work with HOD, product managers, and stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical solutions

• Share knowledge and mentor junior developers

Education, Skills & Experience

• 3+ years’ experience in back-end development within Fintech, SaaS, or high-compliance environments

• Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken

• Proficiency in .NET (C#)

• Previous experience with PostgreSQL or similar, including schema design and query optimisation

• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly Microsoft Azure, with a focus on secure data handling and deployment best practices

• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, supporting automated build, testing, and deployment processes

• Knowledge of encryption methods, secure API design, and data protection requirements for financial systems

• Ability to develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure reliability and avoid regressions

• Practical experience with logging, monitoring, and incident response tools, including metrics, alerts, and tracing

• Comfortable contributing to technical documentation, participating in code reviews, and engaging in cross-functional collaboration
